Kirk Waters is a fictional character from Rita Christensen's Jane Hoop Elementary series. He first appeared in the second book Jane Hoop Elementary: The Cyber Escape as a good friend of Danny and the Jane Hoop Elementary heroes.

Fictional character biography[]

Kirk is the most powerful video game player of the Jane Hoop Elementary video game ever. He is described "a very adorable young man" in the second book, and also in the seventh book, he is seen and described by Christensen as "a very good looking guy".

Jane Hoop Elementary: The Cyber Escape[]

He first appear appears in The Cyber Escape where he is lives with his parents, who treat him like garbage for quite some time in his life. His grandparents are the only nice people in his family, but sadly, both of them passed away in a car accident. Wishing that he would move far away, he went inside the video game making his parents worried sick, realizing that they made a huge mistake of being mean to their son, and hoping that they would be nice to him at this time. Danny and his friends went inside the video game where they were trying to get him out of the game, and return to his parents. But he says that he enjoys being in the game and does not wish to return back home. But within his parents finally find out, he decided to return back home. And after his parents were killed by his evil nemesis Evil Kirk, he managed to stay in the game instead.

Jane Hoop Elementary: The Final Rush[]

In The Final Rush, just years after being inside the video game, a grown up Kirk is seen once again entered outside the video game into the Final Battle where he helped Jane Hoop Elementary to save the world. He survived from the battle and begins flirting with Heather Woods. It has been announced by Alec that Kirk marries Heather.

Epilogue[]

Kirk returns in the film series spin-off sequel Heroes Forever: The New Resolution. Kirk and Heather are divorced, and is now married to a new wife Melissa, and has a child named Zayne. It was said that they had moved to Canada, where Zayne was born in Canada. Zayne got the job in Cincinnati, and it is the reason why the family moved back to Cincinnati. As Kirk reunites with his fellow friends Danny, Rebecca, Alec, Cory, Jaquille and the rest of the group, Zayne also befriends with their children Devin, Brooke, Kurtis, Erica, Kyle and Kayla. His behavior become strange as Zayne is kidnapped by Wolfman, Catwoman's younger brother, possessing him and giving him telekinesis with the First and the Crystal Power.

During Danny and Rebecca's Christmas party, Kirk and Zayne gets into a heated argument and storms out. At home, Kirk's home is wrecked and Zayne disappeared. After discovering that he is under a evil spell, Kirk fights with Zayne to save his life. Kirk tells him to break the spell and he loves him. As Zayne looks to be returning normal, he rejects and stabs his father in the stomach and falls to his death. Devin knocked him out eventually returning back to normal. At Kirk's funeral, Zayne is wanting to take revenge on Wolfman on what he has done.

Production[]

Kirk is portrayed by Logan Lerman in the 2001 film adaptation of The Cyber Escape and reprised his role in a 2011 film The Final Rush: Part 2. Before Lerman was chosen, Nathan Kress was originally scheduled to play the role. Lerman states that this is his first time that he can play in a bigger roles in his career. Kirk will return in the franchise spin-off, named by Rita Christensen's Superhero Saga, appearing in Heroes Forever: The New Resolution with Lerman reprising his role.
